Kid Robot contest

These dolls are called Munnies and every once in a blue moon Kid Robot has a toy designing contest (here are last contest's winner and participants). I love Kid Robot actually and I think this Donnie Darko toy is awesome-- if I were the judge he would have won.
Thatone, or the Munny Shot one.

Milli Vanilli Meets Stomp/Rent

Seriously, I saw the weirdest and worst band ever tonight. The muscles in the back of my head still hurt from laughing so hard. Strangely, Sarah's friends opened for them...and they were a Noise Pop sponsored performance (no, the Noise Pop festival is not going on...I looked). The group consisted of two black men with tight clothes and tambourines fronting some white nerd rock band. They were the kind of band that I would imagine would be "the rock band" in a Broadway musical. Actually, I stole that analogy from Sarah's friend Kyle, from the opening act, who said that Lansing Dreiden Section II (the headlining group) was a mix between Broadway and Erasure. Still, I'm confused. Was it a joke?
If you come across them, I don't know what to tell you. You should avoid them, but maybe consider seeing them for five minutes to understand why they suck. It's like when someone tells you that their food tastes like shit and then asks you to taste it. Still, some people were REALLY into the band. In fact, I found a pretty good review of them online. They are also on Myspace. Myspace has songs... but they are a crock. They sound better than the live versions and you are missing the fighting tambourine dance that goes with them.
I mean...it was a joke right? Right?

Things are turning out swell

I went to interview with the International Rescue Committee in Oakland yesterday for a volunteer position and I'm starting to feel better about me and mine. Well, cuz I'm doing something that I actually want to be doing: working with refugees (Liberian ones to be exact). Then today, after being really fucking depressed about being alone and jobless (unpaid work does not count) at 30, I met with Prager for breakfast. Breakfast equaled mimosas and sangria. She seemed happy and it was great to see her. She lives in Chicago now. After many drinks, we went to the corner of 16th and Valencia to look for hipsters so that we could trade my Parliament Lights for cigarettes that she likes (American Spirits). We didn't see any...and Prager pointed out that maybe hipsters have started working lately. Oh well.
The reason that I'm in a good mood: it's hot and sunny and fucking wonderful in SF today!
And Happy Birthday Josef!

Myspace is making me crazy
I seriously spend too much time on Myspace looking at stupid hipster profiles...then wanting to shoot myself or them for actually having a professional photographer take glam shots of them. I hate people. But... seriously... Myspace is good for some things: like finding Santino's (from Project Runway)profile.

Well... that is kinda almost as cool as Fay wearing a Kara Janx (also from Project Runway) dress to her birthday party...a dress that I recognized immediately. I thought fay might like a copy of this picture posted on the internet.
I got this weird letter in my junk mail....what's the catch-

HUH?

Those are "natural" people.
And today I went to the Zoo. But not before Kim and I were approached by a nice looking rockabilly boy who asked me if I wanted to get a corndog with him. Kim said that we had just eaten and I said that we had to catch a bus to the Zoo. Mr. Rockabilly sat inside the restaurant- the one that sold corndogs- until we were about to get on the bus.
Then he ran out and yelled at me: What is your name? How will I find you?
and I said: Dunno. I'll be around.
He ended up telling me that I could find him- if I were so inclined- up the street at a construction site. Yes... Mr. Rockabilly Construction Worker. It was all very romantic...only I wasn't feeling romanced by the spectacle. I was feeling a little hungover and sweaty after a night of law firm karaoke.
So here are the Zoo pics:

sex. sex. oh sex.
Well, how did you end up spending 6/6/06? Sacrificing virgins and listening to slayer?? not me!
I went to see X-men with Yoshi...yeah, not the greatest movie and definitely not omen. I came home and then I went with Kim to Trannyshack. Thank god for the trannies. You know, I wonder how they have so much fun being women when I find it completely boring at times.
Anywayz, the show opened with the "Bad Seed" and ended with the "Exorcist" and a man showing me his cock. He had a nice piercing at the end of it.
And, I've been really into Freaks and Geeks lately. I missed the series when it played on television. I think that I lived in London or something. Here is my favorite F & G scene for your viewing pleasure:
and here is something else for your tasting pleasure:

Day of Rockening
Someone asked me what I plan on doing for the Day of Rockening. Then they sent me this video:
Big Love
While out of the country, a couple of people mentioned the new HBO series Big Love to me. It is a series about a polygamous family in Utah. And I thought that the storyline alone sounded awesome...but when I found out that Chloe Sevigny was in it, well, I knew I had to see it! I mean, what girl/lady/woman doesn't have a girlcrush on her?
Well, time spent at Jenny's house watching one of her million HBO channels on Direct TV allowed me to get in some quality Big Love time. And I have to say, it is fucking awesome. I have recently discovered my love for the polygamous lifestyle: sister-wives, communal living, and a man that provides only sperm, some lovin and money. You know, I, like many others, have long been under the impression that polygamy was about the man having his cake and eating it too. But HBO has showed me the beauty of the real relationship. It is about the women, not the men. And seriously, with so few amazing men in this world, why not share?
Last night I saw the season finale. What the hell? Where do we go from here? It's like the cat is out of the bag and he got hit by a truck and now you can't put him back...or you could, but he'd be all smashed and gross and who wants a bloody smashed cat back in the bag?
