Yes, it is March Madness!

I entered some March Madness pool with 168 other entries (some multiple) and when we (the players) got our first update email, I was surprised (or not) to see my name listed under the Sweet 16 Not-So-Much-Bragging Rights. Here was the portion of the email where I was mentioned:

165) Neshemah Blackwell, 65.5 points. A newcomer to the pool, I can't be too harsh! Neshemah struggled mightily in the first two rounds, hitting only 18 of 32 and seven of the Sweet 16. But, unfortunately, this bracket should be OK, as Florida, Kansas, UNC, and Gtown are all still alive. We appreciate your donation to our pool. J

---> I'm laughing so hard that I kinda peed my pants.

It's been too long

I haven't written anything in sooo long. But it might be because I am working 2 jobs. I am so tired.

So, my friend has a little something posted on Sterogum.com which I found to be really funny--his own review of Sebadoh sent in as an email and posted by a Stereogum.com blogger. My friend is Evan G.

On another note, I'm going to buy Sarah a shirt that says "Stop Snitching on Neshemah."

From Mr. Doug Ostertag

A handy guide for New Yorkers moving to San Francisco.

I don't know how real it is. I always think of Brooklyn as being the East Coast version of Oakland.

Cafe du Nord was so damn full last nite. Now I'm out of it.

Stepped off the bus, took in some air, and thought to myself "it smells like sandwiches today." As I crossed Market Street to get to my building, I noticed a long line of people outside the Bank of America doors, which is conveniently located below the trendy and cheapest clothing store ever-- Forever 21. The crowd was just a group of immigrants or 90 year old pensioners and it occurred to me that it would be really funny if they were actually in line for the clothing store. I can just picture it now: old men in walkers sorting through 3 floors of hoodies. Well...I tend to get really lost in thought and drift away from reality. Lucky for me that these two notes sounded from somewhere or nowhere and snapped me out of my deep thoughts. I checked my phone to see if I had missed a call since the notes had a similar tone to my new crappy Nokia's ring. Nothing. Then I heard it again and found myself humming a Radiohead song-- "transport, motorways and...sumthing...." I started floating, filled with memories of a trip to England when I was 22.

BTW- My boyfriend, the Mayor, slept with his campaign manager's wife. My office is filled with chitter chatter.

Oh yeah

And I'm the newest member of the Cafe du Nord cocktailing team....that sounds gross.

Email from a coworker

One person sent around an email saying that he was leaving early for a Doctor's appointment and another person sent a response to everyone at my office that said:

I have to go to the 7th floor bathroom from 11am-11:05am to take a number 2 and manscape. I will be at lunch from 1-2. From 3-3:10 I will be checking Craigslist for a new crank set for my road bike. At 4:20 hello guy and I will be hot boxing the Guatemalan consulate. I’ll be reachable by cell phone during all these activities. Call me if you need anything.

Best,

C
